Like in Japan, a smartphone is a must-have. In a big city like Mumbai, it seems like every single person owns a smartphone and everyone walking around the city has one. However, India is a very large country. Considering the current situation where the smartphone penetration rate in India as a whole has not reached 50%, there must be a significant difference between big cities and rural areas. There must be villages where most of the villagers do not have smartphones.
