The inside of the market was chaotic. The Kanoman market here in Cirebon is a traditional market with a large building full of stores selling fruit, meat, and fish. In front of the building, there were Becak waiting for shoppers, and some people who couldn't set up store inside the building opened their own small stores. Many people came here to shop, and I could feel the vitality of this peaceful town.

On the right side of this photo is a fruit shop. There were many kinds of fruits on display, just like in a tropical country. At the end of the aisle stretching next to it, women selling fish were setting up the store. The people on this side were those who could not set up a store inside the building. They were sitting on small chairs, selling fish on trays placed on top of bucket-like containers. There were many kinds of fruits for sale, but also many kinds of fish. The main industry of this town is fishing.

Before coming to this market, I had seen a large gate with multilingual signs, which gave me the impression that this town was a mixture of various cultures, but I didn't feel such multiculturalism in the market. It is said that there are many overseas Chinese, but there is no atmosphere of overseas Chinese in the market. The overall atmosphere was that of a country town market.
