The Linjiang Night Market was bustling with people. It was like a fair. The streets were filled with food stalls and visitors. A wide variety of goods are sold here. Some sell clothes and accessories, but most of them sell food. The rows of food stalls are more reminiscent of a food court than a “market." Some stalls have tables and chairs, so you can sit down and enjoy your meal.
The wagon in the photo is from a night market stall. The wagon is piled with many kinds of fruits. This is a stall selling fruits. The wagon also has Sugar apples, which is rare in Japan. Japan has been importing bananas from Taiwan since before World War II, but the Sugar apple has not been imported even now. It is said that it is a difficult fruit to transport because it quickly becomes soft once it starts to ripen.
While other stalls were constantly attracting customers, this stall was deserted. The owner, an old woman standing next to her wagon, seemed to be isolated from the hustle and bustle of the night market.
