When you come to the Jellyfish Rumble area at Aqua Park Shinagawa, you will see jellyfish floating in the standing cylindrical tanks, just as the name suggests. The sight of jellyfish expanding and contracting in the illuminated tanks is fantastic. Most of the jellyfish are translucent or transparent, and when lit up, they take on a glow. The jellyfish floating in the tank can be clear white, bright red, or light blue.
When I see translucent jellyfish floating in the ocean, I don't often think of them as beautiful, but when I see them lit up in an aquarium, I think of them as beautiful. It's a strange situation, even though they are the same thing. It's as if they're actually a bit of a jerk, but through the power of branding and marketing, they've managed to convince people that they're really great.
Unlike me, who cannot honestly think of beauty, children are pure. A boy nearby was gazing happily at a tank of floating jellyfish in various shades, his eyes sparkling.
