The Keikyu line heading south from Shinagawa is lined with stations one after another. Kitashinagawa, Shinbanba, Aomono-yokocho, and Samezu are all within a short distance of each other. Stopping at each station in turn may be a good way to enjoy a leisurely local train trip, but not many people can enjoy the slow-moving trains during the morning rush hour. Office workers in Tokyo are busy.
As a result of the office workers' focus on getting to the city center quickly, very few trains stop at these local stations during the morning commute. Most of the trains pass by these small stations where you cannot even change trains. Even if I wanted to go to Kitashinagawa or Shinbanba from Shinagawa, I would have to pass through many trains during the morning commute.
I managed to reach Shinbanba station, but it was deserted. It was still commuting time, but there were not many people waiting for the train to the city center. The people who take the train from this station may come to the station at the same time as the train arrives, which is rare in the 23 wards of Tokyo. There was only a man sitting on a bench on platform.
