Hiring a taxi, I headed for the southern part of Yangon. The place where I headed was Kyauktan. At first, I thought it was located on the out of the largest city in Myanmar. Yet I know it was within the city when I spread a map. The city of Yangon is so vast.
After about one-hour drive from the downtown, I arrived at the town. It's a pity it's drizzling because it was a rainy season here. This town is famous for a Buddhist temple, which was built on the island in the middle of the river. And the reason why I came here was to visit the temple.
Getting off the taxi, I walked toward the ferry landing to cross the river. Around the ferry landing, there were many souvenir shops. Seemingly, the temple was also a tourist attraction for the Burmese people. Walking to the loading zone, I found a woman standing under the tree. She put an umbrella up and smiled when she noticed me. And a boy sitting on the ground next to her laughed.
