The word "transportation" in the name and the presence of a passport center in the building may give the impression that it is a window to the rest of the world, but in fact, the Tokyo Transportation Center Building in front of Yurakucho Station has little to do with the rest of the world. In fact, the Tokyo Transportation Center building in front of Yurakucho Station has little to do with the outside world. There is no limousine bus service from here to Haneda or Narita airports. The only thing that reminds me of overseas is the travel guide section of the Sanseido bookstore inside.
That's right. While bookstores in Yurakucho and the Ginza area are disappearing one by one, Sanseido Bookstore here has stayed in business. 20 years ago, there seemed to be several bookstores in Ginza and Yurakucho, but now there is only this one and the Tsutaya bookstore in Ginza Six. So when I visit Yurakucho, I stop by the Tokyo Transportation Center building, admire the fractal design of the staircase, and buy paper books at Sanseido as a show of support.
