Purple Flower Of Lotus

purple flower of lotus

The flower was blooming in the pond

Shot at Ohara Museum in Kurashiki, Okayama.

Many flowers of the lotus bloomed in the pond in the museum. The purple flower in the photo was one of them. The petals were vivid purple and the pistils were vivid yellow. The contrast between them was stimulative.

In Buddhist culture, the lotus often represented the purity of the body. It was beautiful as same as fine arts which were collected by the museum. By the way, I don't know the differences between water lily and lotus. They are so alike.
