An undermotivated street vendor was working
A man wearing a hat was sitting on the side of the sidewalk. The man was a street vendor. His wares for sale were displayed on the ground. But the man wore his hat deep and just turned over, and didn't seem to have much business to sell. He didn't call out to people as they pass by.
No one stopped in front of the man to look at his goods. A man with an umbrella in his hand came from the other side, but again, like everyone else, he didn't look at the goods of the street vendor. He walked quickly past, looking in his hand. He might have been checking for coins.
