Worshippers Were Always Seen Praying In Erawan Shrine

Worhippers in Erawan Shrine

The Erawan shrine was very popular with local people

Shot at Erawan Shrine in Bangkok, Thailand.

On the edge of the site of an exclusive hotel, there was a small shrine called Erawan Shrine. Thailand is a Buddhist country. Although there are also Muslims in this country, the major religion is Buddhism. However, this shrine is a Hindu shrine. It enshrines Brahma, a Creator deity of Hinduism. Buddhism was like one of the countercultures against Hinduism. So Buddhism has close ties to Hinduism. Yet I don't know why the Hindu deity enshrined in the center of Bangkok.

Anyway, it is very popular with local people and the precinct is always crowded. At the time of visiting, it was also crowded with worshippers. A golden statue was stationed in the center of the small precinct and worshippers prayed for it. The three women in this photo were just praying toward the statue.
