The Sule Pagoda is one of the most popular Buddhist temples as well as the Shwedagon Pagoda, the most popular tourist attraction in Yangon. It is visited by a large number of worshippers. And then there are some suspicious characters who are looking for the same visitors, especially foreign ones.

As soon as I stepped onto the grounds, the stranger quickly came up to me. And he started to explain about this temple without asking for help. Well, it's a suspicious guide everywhere. If I continued to listen to his explanation, he asked me for money, so I turned him down quickly. Thank God such people I meet in Yangon were not so persistent. As soon as I refused, this man also disappeared.

There was a huge golden stupa in the center of the temple grounds. I followed the locals and start walking around the stupa in a clockwise direction. There were altars around the stupa here and there. The altar in this photo was one of those altars. A man was standing in front of it and was just offering. There was a signboard on the top of the altar that said "Saturday". In Myanmar, the day of the week in which you are born is very important. It seemed that this altar was for people who were born on Saturday. I wondered what day of the week I was born.
