In a corner of a Nepali Buddhist temple called Swayambhunath, there was a man who was spreading various things on the ground. At first glance, he seemed to be having a picnic. But the man was not having a picnic by himself. The man was doing something of a ritual.
It seemed that this man was performing a ritual called Homa by himself. They were offerings that were laid out on the ground, and he was sitting in front of the altar and murmuring something. He might have been chanting sutras, a Buddhist tradition. Was the man grateful for the past, or was he praying for the future?
