As I walked, I came to a road beside the railroad tracks, the KRL Jabodetabek tracks. When I looked ahead, I could see the station building on the viaduct. This place was near Sawah Besar railway station in Jakarta. In Japan, the station is often the busiest place in the vicinity. However, it is a little different here. The area around the station was not particularly crowded. There were no commercial facilities, just ordinary buildings.
There may be more people using this station if it is in the commuting time. But when I arrived at the station, it was pretty quiet. There were few pedestrians on the streets near the station. And I found a mobile stall on such a deserted sidewalk. As I approached the stall to see what it was selling, I found the owner of the stall asleep. He was sleeping tightly, face down in his own stall. There was certainly no merchandise laid out on his mobile stall, and his parasol was tightly closed.
Perhaps he would no doubt get up and start doing business when more people pass by, say, at the time of the commute. Until then, he keeps taking breaks on the sidewalk. I have a feeling that there is a more suitable place to take a break than here, but I thought he preferred the place in full knowledge.
