Near Shiodome Station, elevated sidewalks stretch between modern buildings. Even on weekends, there are few people walking on these wide sidewalks. I walked leisurely along the elevated sidewalk.
The elevated walkway is not the only elevated walkway in the area. The Yurikamome runs through a valley of buildings that is even higher than the sidewalk. Unlike regular trains, the Yurikamome runs on tires and is very quiet. It is so quiet that you cannot tell it is approaching until you see it. Watching the Yurikamome run between buildings without making a sound, I felt as if I had entered a world of the near future. If it were not for the elevated tracks, the city would be reminiscent of Tokyo, the world of Blade Runner that appears at the beginning of the movie.
On the other hand, on the ground, there was an old-fashioned everyday space. Looking down from above, I saw businessmen in suits and ties hurriedly scuttling along the sidewalks, even though it was the weekend.
