Mahazedi Pagoda

Golden Mahazedi Pagoda under blue sky

The golden Mahazedi Pagoda towered under the blue sky

Shot at Mahazedi Pagoda, a Buddhist temple in Bago, Myanmar.

Like other tourist destinations in Bago, this pagoda was also huge. And there were no tall buildings around the pagoda. It had a strong presence spontaneously. Buddhist belief has been pervasive the city. Although there were also some mosques in this city, they didn't have much of a presence here. Watching the golden architecture stretching to the blue sky, I felt as if I could accumulate virtues by just seeing.

The golden architecture was a pagoda, therefore, it was said that the jewel-encrusted tooth relic of the Buddha. When I always heard that, I wondered how many tooth relics of the Buddha exists all over the world. The number of the total tooth relics of the Buddha could be more than adult teeth number. However, I have to admit the possibility that the Buddha had an enormous number of teeth.
