It's not far from the Royal Palace in Bangkok to Wat Pho. I reached this temple in a hobble. It has been 19 years since I came to this temple. It was so long ago that I don't remember much about my previous visit. All I remember is that there was a huge reclining Buddha in the temple hall, and he was lying cramped.
I paid my fee at the entrance and hurriedly made my way to the hall. When I stepped inside the hall, there was a huge golden reclining Buddha lying there, just as it was 19 years ago. It could be said that the building is too small, or the Reclining Buddha is too big, and I'm not sure which is to blame, but the fact that the Reclining Buddha is still lying there looking cramped is the same as it was 19 years ago. This must have been because after enshrining a Reclining Buddha, they decided it was not good for the precious Buddha to be exposed to the wind and rain, so they built a roof over it.
The reclining Buddha was stretched out like a gymnast in a straight line. When you come to the edge of the hall, you can see the soles of his feet. The soles of his feet were painted like a mandala and his toes were also decorated with glitter.
