The golden stupa rising in the center is That Luang. Although its authenticity is uncertain, it is said to have been built by a monk from India in the 3rd century A.D., so it has a long history. It is the representative stupa of Laos.
The shining figure under the sky stands out even from a distance, as there are no large buildings around it. It is the symbol of Laos, and is even depicted on the national emblem. When I visited, the sky was clear blue. The color of the sky was a clear blue, and it matched the color of the golden stupa.
