There was a small wharf under the bridge. Like other wharves, it was jammed with the small wooden boats. Oarsmen were standing on every boat and everybody was holding their own bamboo oars in their hands.
Although these boats were human-powered, they crossed the wide river called Buriganga River. A bridge was seen in the background. It was not free of charge. So many local people preferred to take a wooden boat to cross the river.
