Oarsman Sitting On The Edge Of His Boat

Oarsman holding bamboo pole

The oarsman held a bamboo pole

Shot in the city of Dhaka, Bangladesh.

A wooden boat was docked on the riverbank. And an old man with a luxuriant beard was sitting on the edge of his wooden boat. He was stripped to his waist and a bamboo oar was in his hand. This boat was a small passenger ferry and the man was an oarsman.

He was waiting for customers coming while he was looking at some distant place. Because this boat was human-powered, I thought his job was a hard task. I wondered how much money he could earn by the har job a day.
