The wharf called Sadarghat was very crowded. Many wooden boats were wriggling on the river. The boats came and went in an endless stream because the locals crossed the Buriganga River with these small boats.
Every boat had its own oarsman and they sat at the end of wooden boats. Everyone wore lungi and had a long bamboo oar in their hands. When I held my camera, one of them smiled. Beside him, a standing passenger was about to go ashore. He carried burdens with a serious look.
