Shurakuen Garden was once the feudal lord's garden of the Tsuyama clan and is designated as a national place of scenic beauty. I visited with high expectations, but was disappointed. Walking around the garden was somewhat unsatisfactory. All that came to mind was why this place was designated as a national scenic beauty spot.
There was a pond in the garden. I stood by the water's edge with a bewildered feeling. The surface of the pond was covered with leaves. It was densely covered with lotus. Flowers were blooming in places. The lotus flowers did not calm my mind.
