An elderly oarsman had come close to me when I was at a small wharf on the Buriganga River. He wore a gorgeous white beard and some deep wrinkles were on his forehead. He looked straight at me while he was holding a bamboo oar.
This man was one of the oarsmen who crossed the wide river with the small wooden boat. Unbelievably, the vehicle was human-powered. Every oarsman used a bamboo pole like him.
