A number of large baskets were placed in the aisles of the Khlong Toei Market. These baskets had handles on the top and wheels on the bottom to make them easy to tow or push. When I first saw it, I did not know what it was used for and thought it was simply a trash can with a handle. As is typical, there is a lot of trash in this market, and I thought that the market manager had installed it to dispose of it. However, it seems that this is not the case.
Too many baskets are placed in the middle of the aisles to be just trash cans. These are not trash cans, but things that couriers working in the market carry with them. They have handles and wheels so that they are easy to carry even with large loads. The man in the photo is one of the couriers working at the market. He is wearing an orange vest for clarity. He looked at me quizzically as I stared at the baskets on display. To him, it must have seemed strange that someone was looking at an ordinary basket with such interest.
