A motorcycle was parked in the aisle of the Khlong Toei market. A young girl and her father were riding it. They had probably come to the market to do some shopping.
However, upon closer inspection, I noticed that they were not carrying any kind of shopping baskets. They were empty-handed. They are not tourists, they are locals. How in the world did they intend to bring home what they bought here?
Aside from that question, I walked up to them and pointed my camera at them. The girl perched in front of her father gave me a quizzical look, while her father looked off into the distance. I don't know what he was looking at, but it was clear that he was not interested in me, at least not as a foreigner.
It is not unusual to see foreigners in Bangkok, so it is not surprising that they are not interested in me and my camera. According to a MasterCard study, Bangkok was the most visited city by tourists in 2018. That's roughly 20 million. No wonder there are foreigners walking around everywhere.
