A Buddhist monk wearing a conical hat was standing by the roadside silently. A bowl was in his hands. He was asking for alms there. The street was busy and many people passed by him. Yet few pedestrians stopped in front of him.
Nonetheless, he didn't seem to get discouraged. I thought it required patience to ask for alms in the street in this country. A person of religion was not treated with respect unlike in the South-East Asian countries.
