Many lanterns were hung over the approach to the shrine. And the names of the dedicators were written on them. The time of a festival might be approaching. The precinct seemed to be poised.

Yet the approach was deserted and the atmosphere was still tranquil. People were walking under the lanterns in a leisurely fashion. I found a woman who had two plastic bags in her hands walking. She might get home from shopping.
