It seems that the company name was chosen because cameras and photographic products were the company's main products when it was first established. Incidentally, "Yodobashi" in the first half of the company name is not the surname of the founder, but a place name. Yodobashi is the name of a ward that once existed in this area. Yodobashi ward merged with Yotsuya and Ushigome wards in 1947 to form the current Shinjuku ward. In other words, the company took the name of the place where it was founded and its main products at that time as its company name.
