Several ferries were anchored on the banks of the spacious Ayeyarwady River. There was no ticketing hut in the vicinity, so I guessed people would have to buy the ticket after boarding the ship. I wondered if I could take a ride on the boat, but I couldn't find out where the boat was going. There was no destination written anywhere on the ship. The system was not friendly to foreign travelers.
Looking at the ship, two men were just disembarking. One man was carrying a large tray. The man was not a passenger, but a peddler selling food and other items to people on board the ship.
