There was a boat moored in the Ayeyarwady River, which looked like a passenger ship. There was no wharf, just a crude wooden gangplank that allowed to board the boat directly from the waterfront. There was no indication of where it was going. It may have been obvious to the locals, but it was unfriendly to the tourists.
As I approached the boat to take a closer look, a woman appeared on the gangplank and started to disembark. With a large basket on her head, she walked swiftly on the narrow gangplank. She must have finished peddling to the passengers inside. I was worried that she might fall off, but she finished the crossing in no time at all. She had a good sense of balance.
