Leaving Taukkyan War Cemetery, my taxi started to head for Bago again. The cemetery was the only place where he wanted to take me in his own right. And I arrived at Bago when the taxi stopped next time.
The car stopped in front of the gate in a narrow way. It was the entrance to Shwemawdaw Pagoda, which is the tallest pagoda in Myanmar. Paid the entrance fee, I entered the precinct without shoes. It was a rule to enter the holy place without shoes in this country. The composition of the temple was similar to the famous pagoda, Shwedagon Pagoda. A golden pagoda was erected in the center of the precinct and many halls were built around it.
Walking around, I entered one of the halls. Many Buddha statues were stationed inside. And one woman sat in front of them alone.
