The synagogue was located in the downtown. The downtown was bustling. Yet the inside of the building was silent and no worshipers were there at the time of visiting. Only people I saw in the synagogue were workers who renovate outside of the building.
When I came out of the synagogue, I heard the noise of the street and I felt as if I came back to the world where the sound existed. Many cars were parked on both sides of the street. And a man sat on the chair by the roadside. A pedicab was also parked on the other side of him. A hat was hung on the steering wheel of it. At first, I thought this man was a pedicab driver. Yet it might not be true. He had a poochy belly. So he seemed not to do physical work every day.
