As I walked along, I came to the edge of a residential area. Beyond this point, stores were popping up, leading to the Yangon Central Station. Bicycle cabs called "Saiq-ka" were parked along the side of the road, and it looked like a cab stand. Local people walk up to this point and take a cycler to the city. There are car cabs in Yangon, but they are not common among the locals. People living here prefer eco-friendly bicycle cabs. I guess it is not so much a matter of preference but of price.
Drivers are sitting on the saddle of a cyclist. They are quietly waiting for their customers to arrive. Even if a passerby appears in front of them, they do not tout to him or her. It may be that shouting and touting are considered immodest here. When I held up my camera, only a few people looked at me, but no one approached me. I was curious to see the woman standing at the far end of the line looking at me as if she was being followed.
