No trams or trains ran the city of Yangon. So locals people moved by busses or hired a pedicab. Although Myanmar was emerging, the Yangon authority had no money to build a railroad. Therefore, the traffic jam was getting heavy year and year. It is said that the authority planned to build subways from 2020. So the buses are the main means of transportation as it now stands. And the bus system was extended all over the city.
I often saw a bus stop during I stroll about the streets. This photo was taken at one of them. Many local people waited for buses to come there. Maybe the bus was long coming, some people seemed to be in a bad mood. And one young woman squatted down at the side of the road. On her face, Thanaka was painted plentifully.
