While strolling in Bago, I happened to stop by a certain store. At first I thought it was a shack because of its simple appearance, but it was not. In front of the store were rows of bowls containing a variety of goods. Inside the hut-like store was dimly lit, and a man who appeared to be the owner was quietly sitting down. Looking into the bowls, we saw that they contained red beans, flour, and other grains. The store seemed to specialize in grains. From the mortar and pestle by the man's side, I guessed that he grinds the flour he sells himself.
When I held up my camera in front of the store owner, he smiled and agreed to take my picture. Next to him, a woman who appeared to be his spouse was indifferent to the camera, busily working away while I was taking pictures. She didn't seem to have the kind of affection that one might show to a foreigner.
