I crossed the Sumida River from Tsukuda, which used to be an island, to Akashicho. I stopped along the river and gazed at the scenery. The Sumida River was flowing quietly. There was a promenade along the river, and people were occasionally strolling along it. It was a beautiful day. It felt good to take a walk. It is said that there used to be a foreign settlement in Akashicho, but nothing remains of it. Nowadays, the streets are plain and ordinary. It is hard to believe that many foreigners used to live here.
As I gazed along the river, a figure appeared below me. The figure was strolling along the river. The shadow was staggering along the ground as well.
