I was walking aimlessly along the Nakajima River, which flows through Nagasaki City. There were no particularly interesting streets. The houses lining both sides of the river are no different from those in Tokyo, where I live. But the bridges over the river are a little different. There are many bridges, but most of them are arched. The curves of the bridges add an accent to the otherwise ordinary townscape.
I stopped and looked at one such bridge. This bridge also has a gentle arch. As I watched, a woman began to cross the bridge. The woman's figure was silhouetted.
