The narrow precincts of Shohachiman Shrine, lush with colorful leaves, were deserted

Being surrounded by the dwellings, this small Shinto shrine stood silently. This area was a neat housing estate and the precinct was also silent. When I entered into the precinct, no worshipers were there.

Two guardian dogs were standing still in front of the prayer hall. It was winter and the leaves were ablaze with fall colors. During staying in the precinct, nobody came to pray. The deities stationed here could rest at ease unlike in the other famous Shinto shrine.
