There was a small Shinto shrine alongside the wide street. A stone Torii stood at the entrance and the steep staircase was on the other side of the gateway. And the thick sacred rope called 'SHIMENAWA' was hung from the Torii. Its prayer hall was built on the top of the stairway.
I stopped and watched the scene. I was not able to make up my mind to climb the stair. Then, a girl passed by me and entered to the shrine. She had no hesitation in heading for the top of the stairway.
