A spacious plaza was set up at the Konan exit of Shinagawa Station. The square is surrounded by buildings, and their large shadows cover most of the square. I stopped on a pedestrian bridge and watched the plaza without doing anything. There are not many people in the square on weekends. Even the occasional person crosses the square at a brisk pace. For most people, this is just a pathway.
And then I saw a young mother standing in the middle of the square. Out of the mother's line of sight was a young girl, and the girl was running toward the mother. Both of them held out their arms and the girl jumped into her mother's arms.
