Tables and chairs were lined up by the window. A young woman was sitting at one of them. She was dressed in what appeared to be a recruiting suit, so I guessed she was job hunting. It was a weekend, but the day of the week doesn't matter to job-seeking students. He had come to Shinagawa for a job interview.
The interview seemed to have been a hard day's work. The woman, exhausted, was lying on the table by the window, her body thrown out. She was sleeping with a peaceful face. Perhaps in her dream, she must have gotten the job offer one step ahead of reality.
