The sun was getting low as I wandered around Dihua Street. The dusky twilight light was falling on the street. The road surface was shining yellow and the cars on the street were silhouetted. It was time for many people to go home. But I would not be going home. My home is far from here, and it is still too early to return to my temporary residence.
As I look out at the twilight-tinted road, I sense that the day is drawing to a close. And I don't know why, but it reminds me of my childhood. I am actually in a foreign land. Maybe twilight has the power to make me nostalgic.
