Satisfied with the glowing stupa and the statue, I decided to go down the man-made hill called the Golden Hill, where Wat Saket is located. When I descend the stairs to the ground, I find myself in a construction site. It looked like they were building something on the grounds. It's none of my business, but Wat Saket, which is visited by a lot of tourists and worshippers, must be pretty good for the harvest. The construction site was surrounded by a temporary wall. And there were shacks here and there. It was just lunchtime, and I could see the workers were resting freely.
As I watched the scene, I noticed a woman standing under an umbrella next to the shack. One of them was holding a baby, while the other woman was fussing over it. These women were also workers at this construction site. They must have brought their babies with them to work. I'm not sure if they do this because there is no daycare center, or if it is normal to bring their babies to work. But it must be very difficult to work and take care of a baby at the same time.
