I was walking through the suburbs of Muang Sing. There was not a single high-rise building here. There were hardly any three-story buildings, let alone skyscrapers. The sky was very wide. The single-story building in this photo was one of those suburban buildings.
In the vicinity of Muang Sinh, you can still find houses with thatched roofs, but this building had a tin roof. I guessed it was difficult to repair thatched roofs like in Japan. The number of thatched roofs must be gradually decreasing because of this.
Thatch roofs look very hot in summer and cold in winter. It seemed that there was electricity, but of course, there was no such thing as an air conditioner. On a sunny day like this one, it must be very hot inside. I saw a man standing by the front door of the house with his upper body naked.
