Drying Beans

Beans dried in sun

The beans were dried on the sieve baskets

Shot in the village of Maligcong, Philippines.

The village of Maligcong was crammed with corrugated-roofed houses. The village built on the bottom of a valley was an agricultural community and it was surrounded by the rice terraces. Yet the local people cultivate not only rice but also beans because beans can cultivate on the inclined plane.

Walking the path between the houses, I found an older woman working. Some sieve baskets were placed in front of her. She was just drying beans in the sun in front of her house.
