A mobile juice stand was operating in the shade on the side of the road in Dhaka. It was selling fresh juice. The only thing on the menu was sugar cane. There was a pile of sugar cane next to a machine for pressing fresh sugar cane. The young man with thick eyebrows in the photo was working at such a juice stand.
At one time, it seemed that people were talking about the coming of the age of biofuels, but I wondered what was going on. Sugar cane is a resource that can be used as a raw material for biofuel. But I guess that story is not going well. At least here in Bangladesh, sugar cane is still used not as a fuel for fast cars and airplanes, but as a fuel for people to move slowly.
