Since the doors of the train I was on would not close, it was only natural that the doors of the train going in the opposite direction would also remain open. While the train was stopped near the station, the doors of the trains we passed were also firmly open. Passengers were standing near the doors, and one man among them was talking on his cell phone. He seemed to be talking somewhat leisurely, with no tension in his shoulders.
Train and train slowly passed each other through each other's windows. Their speed was such that they could probably reach each other if they reached out their hands. As I watched, I began to think that it might be possible to jump from one moving train to the other, if you were clever enough.
Of course, I have no intention of actually trying it. But just imagining the possibility made me feel a little freer.
