Shot at Matsue Castle in Matsue, Shimane.
The photo is the roof of the main tower of the castle. The main tower of this castle is one of few main towers which was not destroyed after the Meiji Restoration.
Unfortunately, the people of that time thought the old-fashioned Japanese castle became useless and destroyed them. So the persisting main towers were few. It was a matter of regret. The castles were inefficient in the war time indeed, they could attract many tourists in today's environment.
