At the Higashimukojima station, there is a small museum called the Tobu Museum. As the name suggests, it is operated by Tobu Railway. Apparently, several trains that actually used to run are on display.
I have been to Higashimukojima many times. But I have never been in this museum. Not for any particular reason. I think it was just that I never had a chance to visit the museum. However, some of the vehicles on display are placed outside the building. So, even if you don't go all the way in, you can see them. For example, in that photo is Nikko Track 203, which is preserved outside.
Nikko Track 203 is a streetcar manufactured in 1958 and ran on the Nikko Track until 1968. After that, the line was closed and this tramcar also finished its role. It is now quietly living out its remaining life here. Of course, I am not sure if it is correct to say that the train is “quietly living out the rest of its life. But at least that's how it looked to me. The body of the train was quietly there, listening to the sound of the wind and the vibration of the passing train.
