I was standing on the platform of Higashi Mukojima station, waiting for the train to come. The station was quiet, and I saw a woman standing alone in the distance. As the quiet time passed by, I heard the sound of an express train approaching from a distance. It was the “Ryomo” of the Tobu Isesaki Line.
Express trains do not stop at this small Higashi Mukojima station. The train passed lightly on the platform and disappeared in a flash. The silence that followed seemed to accentuate the speed of the passing train.
As I stood there, I thought to myself. It would not be a bad idea to take the “Ryomo” to Utsunomiya to eat gyoza (dumplings). Such a thought crossed my mind.
