As I got off the train at the Hikifune station and stepped into the residential area, I came across a small park. It was a very ordinary park that could be found anywhere. There was nothing noteworthy about it, just the familiar playground equipment. Local children were playing around in the park, doing whatever they wanted to do. Their cheerful voices echoed throughout the park, seemingly breathing life into the peaceful afternoon scenery.
In contrast to the children's innocent movements, the adults just sat there quietly. They do not run around or raise their voices, but rather seem to blend in with the park. The same was true of the man with the hat sitting at the edge of the park. He was staring at his smartphone with the sound of playful voices as background music, not paying attention to the happy children. It was as if he was clearly separating his time from the outside world.
